How to clean your GhostCover keyboard protector

Consistently cleaning the GhostCover will help ensure your keyboard protector is as clean as it can be at it’s given life stage. Most bits of built up dust, sweat, and oil can be removed in just a few steps.*

Warning:

Do NOT wash this in a dishwasher. It will be damaged by high pressure and high temperature.

Step 1: Soak the protector

Remove the cover from your keyboard and place it in a container or tray with warm soapy water for 30 minutes - 1 hour. This will help loosen up dirt and grime from your protector.

Note:

Do NOT use hot water as the TPU material may warp or deform under high temperature.

Step 2: Scrub and rinse

Approach the GhostCover with a generous amount of dish soap and a SOFT sponge. Gently scrub the cover, however be persistent if you have to. Rinse thoroughly with water to get excess soap off your cover.

Step 3: Let it dry

Place the washed GhostCover over a thick paper towel and let it air dry.

Note:

Do NOT dry under the sun, with a hair dryer or in a dryer

Pro Tip:

Take advantage during dry time to quickly inspect your MacBook. Does the keyboard need cleaning? Visit our cleaning guide here. Does your screen need to be wiped? Use HyperVis.

In time, your cover will no longer be washable. It will be permanently dirty/worn and need replacing, just like a toothbrush or water filter. We recommend replacing GhostCover every 6 - 12 months, depending on typing habits.

*Cleaning the GhostCover will not remove the discoloration (yellowing) of the TPU material due to UV exposure. Yellowing of the material is cosmetic and does not affect the protective performance of the protector.
